Ellie and Wendy made choosing my dress such an amazing experience! They were so helpful and the shop is so beautiful and laid out perfectly. They have the most incredible selection of dresses, and having the whole shop to yourself really makes the experience so special. Can’t recommend Silver Sixpence enough!

I visited the silver sixpence last night, and had an amazing experience. The ladies where both so so good in listening and delivering. The advice they gave me was brilliant and the choice of dresses was fabulous 👌 I was so nervous and worried and they made me feel so comfortable. Highly recommended!

My experience here couldn’t have been better. Being plus size makes wedding dress shopping a lot more nerve wracking, but as soon as we went in here I felt so relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed trying on the dresses to the point where I didn’t really want to leave! The building is gorgeous and every single dress we saw in there was so beautiful, it was so hard to choose which to try on first! Mine was the second one I tried on and it is just everything I’ve ever wanted. Wendy and Ellie are both so lovely and extremely good at what they do, they make you feel so comfortable! I never thought dress shopping would be so easy but the whole experience was an absolute breeze! I would highly recommend this place to every plus size bride!

The dynamic duo of ladies here are just the most wonderful women. I was made to feel at home, comfortable in my own skin and beautiful. I found my perfect dress within 5 minutes and couldn’t have been happier. We travelled to Durham especially and I’d do it all over again for their kind and accommodating approach to something very important. Other bridal boutiques could learn a lot from them on customer service! I can’t remember the name of my dress but it was from White Rose designers.

This was the best bridal experience I've ever had! such a huge range of dresses, all of which fit. Both Wendy and Ellie are fantastic and care about each customer who walks through the door. They really put me at ease with their relaxed attitude and 0 judgment. It's thanks to them that I found my perfect dress, veil, and tiara; they really do go above and beyond. I cant thank them or recommend them enough.

Wow what can I say about this shop! We have travelled all the way from manchester and we were not disappointed. Wendy & ellie we’re so accommodating even when our trains were late. We felt totally looked after and special, they listened to the brides preferences and allowed her to try on so many dresses. They even provided us with Prosecco. My cousin said yes to the dress and it was an absolutely memorable amazing experience! To top it off they gave the bride to be a beautiful little gift bag, they gave us such a wonderful experience we won’t forget in a hurry . Thank you Wendy & Ellie x

Have just enjoyed a most wonderful time choosing a wedding dress with my daughter. Wendy and Ellie were so helpful and friendly with a good knowledge of their stock. Nothing was too much trouble. I recommend a visit here for all you curvy brides to be.

Today my daughter and her partner went to this lovely shop with a big problem on their hands. Although the lady didnt have anything suitable in stock she rang round many other places in an effort to help even ringing my daughter after she had left to see if they were sorted. So if you want to be treated well and support a local business do not hesitate to visit this shop. It was an occasion dress they were looking for not a wedding dress, if it had been a wedding dress they would have been sorted out without any problem

Had a fabulous time with Wendy trying on beautiful wedding dresses from their range. I managed to fulfil something I never had the opportunity to do before, Wendy was so understanding and nothing was to much trouble. Totally loved the experience xx
