Wonderful place for the family and sailing and angling enthusiast. Bird watching and On-site WC boat house shop in the summer. This is a seasonal club with on site parking which is chargeable. Highly recommended a visit with the family.

Great walk around the circular route it’s only 3mile but you can spend a lot of time looking for wildlife the dogs loved it once you get around the back the dogs can have a sniff around there are some beware of adders signs .. not sure if they still around with it cooling down . I can imagine it gets pretty muddy around the back of the dam but the front is all footpath if you want a quick walk

I've recently completed my level 1 and 2 RYA sailing certificates here and plan on becoming a member. Lovely location and friendly staff and users. Would recommend

You would have got five had you warned the 2 mile path round the lake is only passable on the far side by a major detour away from the lake. What looks inviting for the first half of the walk is not for the faint hearted as it progresses and there are no signs to advise.
Otherwise..you're great!!

Just went to take some photographs and stumbled upon a yacht race. Lovely and scenic view. Also has a well built and located bird watching hut.

Scaling Dam is a lovely place for families - sailing, open water swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, walking, fishing and more. There's a small shop selling ice creams and drinks and a club house with a bar which holds social events. Membership is very cheap for the year and allows for a simple non-smoking membership, which is cheaper and will save money on parking charges. There is a path all the way around the dam which takes in all sorts of flora, through woodland, alongside the dam wall, through picnic areas, up on moorland. It can get a bit boggy in places around the edges of the moor but it's worth it for the views and fresh air.
